Compass advising is focused on the faculty student advising relationship. What's special about Oglethorpe is that we pair that with professional staff advising, and these are people located in the Student Success Office. And their job is to help you put together your whole academic plan. When we meet with students, everything very individualized. Everything's very personalized for students to fit their needs. It's really sitting down having the students input because they know themselves better than anyone. The process is really easy. If you are someone who has any type of disability in terms of like learning, you can get like extensions on like deadlines or for test taking, you'll get an extra amount of time. Oglethorpe offers a wide range of academic supports for students. We have our Excel Academic Coaching program, which really helps them stay organized, help them with study skills. We also offer free tutoring as well as supplemental instruction for students. So with your Compass, faculty based advising, and then your professional staff advising, you'll have the richest experience you can have at Oglethorpe, and will also get you through in a timely manner.
