I personally really enjoy Fine Arts here at Oglethorpe. I really like the music program because I don't feel they shun people away. They're very welcoming when it comes to including new people, even if they're not majors or minors. It's been wonderful being able to see a mixture of like people that are music scholars and people that are doing choir because they just really have a passion for it. One really big thing at Oglethorpe is that we do have our own university museum, the Albert Museum of Arts. It's really cool-- I have a lot of friends that are actually part of the museum, like curatorial study track and stuff like that. And with that, we got to see other museums in the Atlanta area. And also I really get to see the business side of what it means to be a curator, really an experience that I cannot even replicate. So I'm really happy I got to do that at Oglethorpe. At Oglethorpe, we have two major student led theatre organizations. We have the Student Theatre, which every semester they put on a production. This is where a student gets to write or direct or produce or do all three. The other organization is the improv group, and they travel occasionally to competitions-- and they travel to shows in the park. In terms of internships, especially with theater, we have a partnership with the Alliance Theatre. They take Oglethorpe students, as interns, and of course Actors Express, which is working with us right now for Heathers. It gives you the opportunity to work with professional directors or just professional actors as well. I really do appreciate that Oglethorpe is very supportive of my career. And I thank them for that.
